Production Begins at Heaven Hill Springs

We have officially filled the first barrel at the new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown, marking the return of distilling to the Bourbon Capital of the World and the start of production at our newest facility.

This milestone represents a full-circle moment in our nearly 90-year history. Distilling has not taken place in Bardstown since 1996, when a devastating fire destroyed our original distillery. Now, nearly three decades later, we are proud to begin this new chapter in the same community where our story began.

The new Heaven Hill Springs Distillery is a $200 million investment in the future of American Whiskey. Located on a 61-acre site, the facility will produce 150,000 barrels annually, with capacity to expand to 450,000 barrels. It joins our Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, which has remained a cornerstone of our operations since 1999.

This new facility was designed with sustainability at its core. It features water reuse and recovery systems, advanced wastewater pretreatment, stormwater management, and purposeful habitat restoration. These systems help ensure we protect the natural resources that make bourbon possible as we continue to grow.

Filling the first barrel is a homecoming and a major step into the future of Heaven Hill. The Heaven Hill Springs Distillery reflects our deep roots in Bardstown, our long-term commitment to American whiskey, and our investment in building the next 90 years with care, intention and pride.

We look forward to sharing more as the distillery continues to come online ahead of our 90th anniversary in December 2025.
